The Malta Society of Model Makers, is proud to announce its most important event of the year, the twinning agreement with an English Society; the Ribble Model Boat Club. For these past five years, the society worked hard to establish its position as a scale modelling club, but it was always the wish of the members to spread and reach out to people with the same hobby and interests. Contact was made with the Ribble Model Boat Club, which enabled modellers from both societies to meet and exchange ideas, while enhancing both cultural and historical levels. This friendship paved the way for one of the most significant events of the society. A twinning agreement between both organisations. This was done during the official opening of the annual scale modelling exhibition 2008, during which the Malta Society of Model Makers was also celebrating the first five years anniversary. The agreement was signed in the presence of his Excellency, British High Commissioner Mr. Nick Archer. This agreement is not just a piece of paper with a couple of signatures, but a strong act of friendship which shall strengthen the position of both societies. The Malta Society of Model Makers is also establishing contact with other scale model clubs in Europe.
